Finally Friday 2/23/18

Finally Friday !!!
 Can you say Embossing paste?
This friday we are going to play with some embossing paste.
I have Stampin" Up! embossing paste.
#145645 shimmer paste
#141979 regular paste
#145646 silver paste
Dianeny.stampinup.net

If you don't have any fear not I have a simple recipe for you to make it. ( recipe below)
Now, you're wondering what our going to do with it. Well, almost anything you want. If you have a stencil you can use that. I used the brown stencil shown above.

No stencil? Well punch out any design or shape you want from cardstock and use that as a stencil.

Any leftover paste you can color it with an ink refill color spread it on your paper and use that as you back gound

I didn't spread mine smooth so it has a nice textured look

This card I made with the recipe below. My glue dried fast so I added a little water. I also colored it with the SU ink refills

Embossing paste recipe
1/2 cup powder. any kind...baby powder talc etc.
1 tablespoon Elmers glue ( any kind of glue works)
a little water if needed

If you want it colored, you can use any acrylic paint, ground up chalk, or ink refill. just add until its the color you desire. Remember tho the more Acrylic paint you add the longer it will take to dry. Ground up chalk dries fastest
Store in sealed tight container

This also works well if you want to make snow. Also, add a little color and dab on with a paintbrush or Q-tip to make leaves. the possibilities are endless.

Sooooo get out your Embossing paste or whip some up and have some fun!
Don't forget to show us what you make !!

Finally Friday 2/16/18

Finally Friday !
This friday were going to make a cascading card. Yes, it was a challenge but it was well worth it.

I have templates for you and a few views of my card. Now The card will fit in an A2 envelope unless you're like me and I extended my flowers so I will have to make my envelope or use a 5 x 6.

I used double sided designer paper but you can use solid cardstock if you prefer.
So here is my card...I stuck with one of my favorite colors. Use your imagination..basic color like I did or a rainbow of colors.

Your templates

After you have your scoring and cutting done, fold your card like below and slide each slit into the slit on the opposite paper.

If at first, you don't succeed, keep trying

Ok give it a try and show us.

Finally Friday

Finally Friday !
Finally friday is back and we are going to start with a funky fold card.
I used Marina Mist blue and the wood grain DPS. I made it for an 80th birthday. I didn't really have any image stamps that fit the person so instead, I did the Funky fold using male colors.
You can use anything you want. This makes a great card for an older person or a child, it makes them laugh.
This card will fit in a 6 x 6 envelope.

Your Template

It's very easy. Cut an 8 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of cardstock for your base. Score at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2  . Then score diagonally both ends as shown above.

 Ok your turn !
Post your picture or send it to me and I'll post it for you
I hope everyone plays along !
